The name Shakti has a deep meaning that reflects the concepts and intentions of the company, its people, and the Mat itself. In Vedic culture, physical health is seen as inextricably linked to mental health, and general well-being only arises when both work well together. The name Shakti and the symbols used represent the Vedic culture from which the Mat originates and remind us that mind and body are inseparable.
In Hinduism, Shakti is the Goddess of primordial energy. The concept of Shakti refers to sacred power or empowerment and represents the divine feminine power and energy. Shakti manifests both externally as physical nature and internally as mind or energy. She is seen as the life force behind your breath, heartbeat, and muscles.
The Shakti Mat was created and designed with the intention of awakening these qualities of Shakti energy and providing users with a way to harness this power (mentally) to restore well-being (physically). Through regular use of the Shakti Mat, users can learn to become more present, resilient, and aware of physical disharmony and imbalance in the body, prompting steps towards restoring the body as a whole.
